MINUTES, EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING, JULY 7 ,2010
President Bill Barnes began the virtual board meeting via Skype at 7:04 PM.
Those participating: Bill, Dewey Williams, Webmaster, Richard Kinkel, Treasurer, Cliff, member and myself.
Tech Talk Dinners: None for July

for August:
Alex will present a program on several free-ware applications.
Open Office
Googledocs and Zoho.
Pea Zip
Google Chrome
Firefox (in case someone isn't familiar with it already.)
Sumatra PDF Viewer as well as some other free PDF readers such as Foxit Reader and possibly Perfect PDF Reader 5.
VLC Media Player
There will be a demonstration of the installation of
UbuntuLinux, time permitting. It's suggested that members bring their own computers to follow along with the talk.
for September:
Joe Clark, Converting tapes and recordings to digital media. .Podcasts will be also covered.
Paula has offered to talk about resources for investors but needs a more private venue. Her talk will be presented when we have a new permanent home.
There is discussion for a program on the finer points of getting stuff on and off your computer.
Richard suggested a program on FaceBook (including securityconcerns) by someone who uses it regularly.
Notes & Instructions:
If members make notes or instructions on anything that is presented at a meeting or a tech talk, the board requests that it/they be uploaded to DropBox in the club's public folder then, distribute the link to others

The PCCC DVD:
The DVD is ready to distribute (hooray!) It will be available to members at the August general meeting. Bill, Alex and Paul will get together soon to work on some fine points.

Treasurer's Report:
Richard reported the details of the club's finances for the past month. All is well.
SIGs:
Much interest has been expressed in a Special Interest Group lead by Barbara and Dewey on genealogy with reference to sites for relative information.
The August board meeting will be on the 24th. All members are welcome to join in. Just install Skype and email your 'Skype name' to Bill at
president@pc3.org. Jack will conduct August's general meeting in Bill's absence.
