« on: May 13, 2010, 07:25:08 PM »
PCCC Board 4/26/2010

Meeting:   6:10 pm, Monday 2/26/10, Showmar’s on Eastway (across from Walmart) Was called to order by President Bill Barnes

Present: Bill, Galen Bolen, Dewey Williams (Webmaster), Jack LaPointe (V P & Membership), Paul Reiss (Secretary) and via Skype VoIP Cliff Johnson, Richard Kinkel (Treasurer) & Rob Wilson (Editor.)

Agenda:
Call to order - Approval of minutes as posted on the club web slite: http://www.pc3.org/forum. Moved by Galen, seconded by Dewey.

Business:
All the funds in the PayPal account were transferred to the checking account.  Jack suggested that we retain the  PayPal account but remove it from the web site so that it would be used rarely, if ever.
Unanimously approved.
He recently used Picasa's face recognition feature and reported that it works very well.

We need to have a program  getting people on Skype and setting up, initially. Then we would have them call another member who was present to make sure all was working. We might need to find a quieter place for this meeting.

Programs
   Scheduled programs:

Dewey will be available for programs through fall.

We will plan on a general interest Q & A meeting in July. Dewey and his collection of gurus will answer members',  technical questions.

In August Richard will give a program on digital movies/video and converting them to other formats.

September's program will be on Picassa, an open source, ie. Free, image manager.

Future – We need ideas, folks!

The PCCC CD – Paul.
The PCCC flash drive? Report from Dewey: flash drives would be prohibitively expensive. The material will be burned on a DVD and provided to current, paid members and new members with a paid membership.

Membership & Dues
Richard and Jack had a long discussion how the membership data base would be updated when Richard recieves a dues check rather that Jack passing it on after getting it himself

Newsletter
Rob and Dewey discussed smoothing out the process of getting articles from members and transferring them to the newsletter software.

Board Meetings:
If the virtual meeting format with Skype works out we may eliminate face-to-face board meetings. We will test this for a month or two. We can change the day and time of the meetings, as well.
