From Hwy 74/Independence take the exit for Hwy 51/Matthews Township Parkway.
Turn off of the ramp going towards the Sycamore Commons Shopping Center.
Turn left onto Northeast Parkway.
Turn right onto DeVore Lane, (the drive for the Levine Senior Center).
Thanks to Terry Bozarth, Barbara DeMase, and Dewey Williams for helping to organize the party. Terry and Barbara are coordinating arrangements while Dewey is shilling for gifts again!

BOARD MEETING MINUTES
Personal Computer Club of Charlotte
Monday, December 1, 2008
Attending: Bill Barnes (President), Barbara DeMase (Treasurer),
Paul Reiss (Secretary), Dewey Williams (Webmaster), Terry Bozarth (Winterfest Chair), Cliff Johnson and Warren Shanahan (Newsletter).
Meeting at the Township Grille in Matthews was called to order at 5:30PM, by President Bill Barnes.
· Approval of Minutes: Terry moved and Warren seconded that the previous minutes be accepted as distributed. Passed.
· Committee Reports:
WINTERFEST-Terry: Christmas Party will be held at the Levine Senior Center on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at 6:00 PM.
The head count will be turned in to the Chef on 12-10-2008.
Late reservations are available through Wednesday / 10th. Contact
treasurer@pc3.org.
Volunteers are needed to set up and decorate for the Party. Plan to arrive at 5 to 5:30 PM.
Please give Terry and all who helped with the Party a warm 'Thank you' when you see them.

Bill reports that he has filed the IRS Form electronically and it was simple.
They didn’t ask for any financial data, just his statement that we were under $25,000.

We are sending the newsletter to almost 100 addresses each month.
SIGs (Special Interest Groups):
§ Web Design - Dewey & Bill: The next meeting will be at the Levine Center in February.

§ MS Office - Warren: The 3rd segment of Advanced MS Word is scheduled for Tuesday, December 9th.
After December 9th: our next MS Office SIG (Advanced MS Word 4) will meet on Tuesday, January 27th.
· Business:
WEBMASTER-Dewey: Door prizes for our Holiday Party are coming in. Intuit has sent several access numbers fo the use of 'Quicken' and 'Turbo Tax' online. We also have free subscriptions to 'SmartComputing' and Belkin has donated several items. We also have anti-malwre programs from Sunbelt Software as well as numerous books.
LOGO: The Board has been talking about a new logo for some time and several people have said they would work on ideas. Do you have one? We can even refine a rough sketch.
· PROGRAMS: January - Virtual Computing (Galen Bolen).
Verified Future Presentations:
- Online Gaming: you can compete with/against others all over the globe!
- Computer Aided Design: Cliff will present a consumer-level appliation for designing houses that provides lots of automatic help and
3D walk/fly throughs. Paul will talk with the CAD folks at Little, Inc. about a presentaion of thier very high-end system.
- Windows Home Server
- Q & A: Dewey will organize on of these ever-popular sessions.
- Social Networking: Are you a MYSpace or YouTube wiz who would like to show the membership the 'hot setup' of these sites?
We would like you to present such a session.
- Own Your Computer: Bill will reprise his very informative program on data organization.
- Dong the Easy Stuff: A program demonstrating the use of Podcasts, RSS Subscriptions, MP3s, Digital Photo Sharing,
Using External Media, 'decommissioning' a Hard Drive, and more...
- Technology Showcase: everyone bring their toys and demonstrate them.
- Possiblities: GPS, digital video, smart phone, video-over-Internet, eBook Reader, etc.

January's General Meeting scheduled for January 8th - Next month’s 'Eatin' Before Meetin' location will be at the
Fuel Pizza in the Park Road Shopping Center.
