Program Summaries

October 15, 2008: "Holes in your firewall"

One of the biggest problems with accessing your computer from the interenet is finding your computer and getting to it through your router and firewall. Websites like LogMeIn or GoToMyPC deal with these issues by keeping a "string" between your computer and their servers taught all the time. Every router is different, and tonight is a hands-on where we will help you configure your router to allow our remote access client and server to connect.

We have to connect to your router from inside your network and to get inside your network from the meeting  you have to first install a web service that breaks through the firewalls. We recommend you install LogMeIn or GoToMyPC before you come to the meeting. Please check out the homework assignment for this meeting.

September 17, 2008: "Introduction to Online Collaboration Resources"

We introduce the concepts, resources, and (our) definitions relating to online collaboration. Check out our download center for the presentation and other documents. Pay particular attention to the resources spreadsheet embedded in the definitions Word doc.
